About Us
Building Bridges has been long established as a supervised contact service with a reputation for being responsive, reliable and child focussed. We provide a service to children in Out of Home Care who are needing contact with family members and to children whose parents are managing their contact through the Family Court.
Building Bridges consists of a team of very well experienced and qualified supervisors. Many of these have been with the company for a long time and many hold degrees in Social Work, Teaching and Psychology as well as other relevant behavioural science qualifications and training.
The organisation changed hands in September 2021. Building Bridges is now owned by Lynn Easterling.
Lynn holds qualifications of a Certificate in Residential Child Care, Diploma in Child Development, Bachelor of Social Science (Developmental Psychology and Sociology) ,Post Graduate Diploma of Social Work (specialising in Children and Families), Master of Social work, and Post Graduate Certificate of Adult Education. She also has a further 3 years study of a Bachelor of Childhood Education and several years research for a Doctoral Degree into child protection assessment, intervention and planning in WA.
Lynn has 40 years practice, professional development and lecturing experience in Child Protection, Children in Out of Home care, Domestic Violence, Drugs and Alcohol, Family Support and Medical Paediatric and Maternity Social Work.
In WA she has sat on the management committee for the Family Inclusion Network of WA (FINWA) and been commissioned to conduct research by the AASW and a ministerial committee on services for domestic violence in WA.
Lynn has been providing Single Expert Witness reports for the Family Court of WA for the past 10 years and has worked as the area Offender Case Management Coordinator for the Family Violence Court of WA. Lynn continues to teach Bachelor of Community Service undergraduates and to supervise social work students at ECU.
Lynn also enjoyed working at the weekends with the previous owner, as a Building Bridges supervisor, for several years.
Molly May is our office manager.
Molly holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Cert IV in Youth Work.
Molly has several years’ experience working in administrative and paralegal roles in the community legal sector, primarily at the Women’s Legal Service WA and the Perth Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention Legal Service (Djinda Service).
