Referrals

The Referral Process

Referrals are accepted from lawyers, Court Orders, Parenting Agreements or from the Department of Communities. Building Bridges will also accept self-referrals.

Copies of current Family Court orders, FVROs or other relevant documents will need to be provided to the agency.

Each party is booked in to complete intake and assessment over the telephone. This must be completed with both the visiting and resident parent/relative/carer before any service can be provided. A risk assessment will also be completed as part of the assessment process.

Please note – intake sessions are booked following receipt of registration fee. Building Bridges is unable to begin the booking process before the registration fee is paid.

Contact Hours Provided

The amount of supervised contact Building Bridges will provide is dependent on many factors including:

    • What is detailed in the court order;
    • What is considered appropriate following the intake interview;
    • The needs of the child/ren; and
    • Availability of supervisors.

The minimum length of time for a supervised visit is one hour. There is no maximum length.

Variation, progression and continuation of supervised contact is considered and based on agency monitoring visits and/or court orders.
